Which cash loans are legit?
Updated November 7, 2026
A legit cash loan comes from a lender licensed in your state where a license is required, shows its rate, fees and dates before you sign, and never asks you to pay money up front to release the loan. No name on a list can tell you that for sure, so check the lender you are dealing with yourself.
How can I tell if a cash loan is legit?
Run these checks in order. Any one failure is enough to stop.
- Look for the costs in writing. You should see the APR, the fees, the total to repay and the due dates before you agree to anything. If nobody will show you these, stop.
- Check the license. Most states license consumer lenders. Your state's financial regulator can tell you if a lender is on its list. Search for the regulator directly rather than following a link from the lender.
- Find a real way to reach them. A company that hides behind a form, with no mailing address or email you can use, is hard to hold to anything.
- Read who collects and how. Know when money will leave your account and how much each time.
What are the signs of a loan scam?
| What you hear | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Pay a fee first and the loan is yours | Treat this as a warning sign and walk away |
| Everyone gets approved | Nobody can promise that before a lender reviews you |
| Pay with a gift card or a wire | Hard to trace and hard to get back |
| Decide now or lose the offer | Pressure is there to stop you reading |
| We need your bank password | No one needs your login to send you money |
This list is plain caution rather than a legal test. If something feels off, you lose nothing by stopping and checking.
Is legit the same as a good deal?
No. A loan can be fully legal and still cost a lot. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's payday example, which we read on November 7, 2026, is a legal product at $15 per $100 that works out to almost 400 percent APR for a two week loan. So there are two separate questions. Is this lender real and allowed to lend to me? Is this price right for my budget?
A short test for the second question: write the full repayment date on a calendar, write down what else must be paid before that date, and see what is left. If the answer is nothing, the loan may leave you borrowing again.
Where does a site like this fit?
Be clear about who you are dealing with. CashRunUSA is not a lender. We take one short request and pass it to lenders in our network. We do not set rates, we do not make credit decisions, and we do not charge you for sending a request. The lender that shows you an offer is the one to check, and the terms it shows are the ones that bind you.
Never pay anyone to send your request or to unlock an offer. If someone contacts you claiming to be us and asks for money, it is not us. Tell us at info@cashrunusa.com.
What should I do if I think I was scammed?
Move fast. Call your bank and ask it to stop further debits and to review the charge. Change any password you shared. You can report a lender problem to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, online or at (855) 411 2372, and to your state's regulator. Keep every message and receipt, because they are what you will be asked for.
Is a cash loan store safer than an online one?
Not by itself. A storefront and a website can each be licensed or not, and each can be fairly priced or not. What a storefront gives you is a person to talk to. What an online request gives you is time to read at your own table. Either way, run the same checks: costs in writing, a license you confirmed yourself, a way to reach them, and no money up front. If you are online, type the site name yourself instead of tapping a link from a message you did not expect.

Quick answers
Is it normal to pay a fee before getting a loan?
Treat any request to pay before you receive the money as a warning sign. Fees on a real loan are normally built into the offer and shown in writing.
Can a legit lender check my credit?
Yes. Many lenders check credit as part of reviewing a request. What matters is that they tell you and that you can read the terms before you accept.
Does this site charge me to send a request?
No. Sending a request through CashRunUSA is free, and you have no obligation to accept any offer a lender shows you.
